Today is the last day of the one of the
most innovative and celebrated events on the fashion calendar. There were in
total 56 catwalk shows and 20 presentations with over 5,000 visitors and
international press from 43 countries, so I think we can say this year went
pretty well.
The British Fashion council continued to
unite fashion and digital innovation by connecting with social media, live
streaming and pioneering new technologies. This year was the first time the BFC
partnered with YouTube, which streamed 21 of the on-schedule catwalk
shows. In total 34of the 56 shows were
live streamed from the Courtyard Show Space at Somerset House, The Tate Modern
and shows from outside the main catwalk venue.
Last year London was voted as Global
Fashion Capital for the second consecutive year by Global Language Monitor, and
this week guests really did do their best to impress. A-list celebrities
including Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Salma Hayek, Anna Wintour, Rita Ora and
Jake Bugg attended the events sporting some great looks.
