Where Are We Now? - David Bowie

Today is the birthday of music idol David Bowie. At 66 years old he released the single ‘Where Are We Now?’ So after 10 years of silence, Bowie brings a new sound to 2013 -The album is said to be released sometime in March.

The last time Bowie released any new material was in 2003 with his album ‘Reality’ and hasn’t done a live performance since 2006. Bowie was also asked to appear in the Olympic Closing Ceremony however clearly turned down the opportunity. A spokesman for Bowie said he was the kind of artist who "writes and performs what he wants when he wants". Which definitely makes sense.

In the late 1960’s Bowie shot to fame and has been a style icon across the world ever since. Just last year he was named one of the ‘All-TIME 100 Fashion Icons.’

Yes, the influential singer did bring us: suits with shortened sleeves and trousers; the no eyebrow look in 73 and the one legged catsuit. But he was also responsible for so many more trends through the decades such as trench coats, trilby hats and glossed hack hair. Looking through recent fashion trends its so obvious how he alone has made such an impact on how we dress today.
